Living in the Moment Series – Meditate

Meditate: The secret is to discipline your mind to float freely. Do not allow it to tether itself to memory or anticipation. Meditate with your eyes on a focal point nearby and keep your thoughts un-tethered.

When I first learned about the art of meditation – I was in awe of those that have the focus and concentration to do it. You do not have to take it in the literal sense, after all meditation takes practice. What I do believe is that we tend to get so busy with our lives that we tend to not take the time to just sit back and focus on what matters. As adults we tend to over think at times, we are all guilty of it. Instead, it helps to just focus on one goal and see where life takes you.

Here are a few tips to help you when you want to relax and focus:

  • When you are on a run or your own workout, try to just focus on something that will allow you to think freely.
  • Try to not over think your current situation. I know it is easier said than done. But try to focus on what you need to accomplish and see what happens.

  • Finally, try to take the time to focus on you. In a very busy society we all tend to not take that time to do ourselves that justice. So do that for you. ☺
