When I woke up this morning I felt as though this day was just another day. I went into 2010 with the mindset that things are going to workout for everyone. They just have too. Then, I turned on the television and saw the devastated nation of Haiti. It broke my heart to see the many displaced people and those who were yet to be rescued underneath the rubble. I took a moment and realized how fortunate we are to be alive. Natural disasters of this magnitude should not bring people together – but it is the course of nature.
We tend to not help others when we have a sense of normalcy. It may sound cliché but it is true. I hope that this event so early in 2010 sparks enough support to not only help others around the world but to also help those within our own communities. If we can step up and make a difference – then we will grow for the better.

I came across these organizations that are still taking donations and assistance to help the victims of the Haiti Earthquake. Please take a moment and give what you can to give to those in need:

Doctors Without Borders: http://doctorswithoutborders.org/index.cfm
Red Cross: http://www.redcross.org/

There are many organizations out there that are also doing their part. I know that these two organizations are in need for medical assistance for the doctor’s who are working around the clock to save lives with limited supplies.
